One wouldn't normally commute on this type of bike due to the drag of fat tyres, low gearing of stock drive train etc.

Been on the beach (no snow or cold weather on Long Island yet) twice already. Great bike for the money, paid $350. It is heavy at about 35-37 lbs. but my daughter doesn't notice. The weak link on the bike is the grip shifter.
